Plum Creek located in Kyle
Twenty minutes south of downtown Austin is the Plum Creek community in Kyle. Construction in this subdivision started back in 1997 with homes built by D.R. Horton and Meritage Homes. Right now there are about 1500 homes, with plans to be about 8000 strong by the time the development is complete. The new phase of this community is being developed by KB Homes, with starting prices between $130K and $160K and homes ranging from 974 sq to over 2000 sq ft. There are also custom home sections that have large lots and many of them back up to the lake.
Plum Creek has a 30 acre catch and release fishing lake adjacent to the Plum Creek Golf Club. This community has two Olympic size pools, one close to the Negley Elementary School and the second impressive pool is in the community center, that offers residents a kitchen available for free, to those who want to party by the poolside! To go along with this community life – there is a Community Life Director who organizes different events throughout the year for families to enjoy.
The schools in the area are the Laura B. Negley Elementary School, the Barton Middle School and the Jack C. Hay High School all part of the Hays Consolidated Independent School District. If you are seeking higher education, you’ll find The University of Texas and St. Edwards University in Austin and Texas State in San Marcos.
The closest medical facility in the area is the Seton Medical Center Hays and a bit further south, the Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos is also available.
And for those folks who find shopping magical…the San Marcos Factory Outlets offer an variety of stores and restaurants in both the Prime Outlet and Tanger Outlets Centers. And if you don’t want to be overwhelmed with so many choices, northbound IH35 – just a short distance from Kyle, Southpark Meadows awaits your visit, supplying entertainment venues, eateries and shopping from sports goods to groceries. But there is no need to go up to south Austin for groceries - Kyle has an HEB Plus.
Plum Creek has an active home owners association providing guidelines for it’s residents. This subdivision is considered a mixed-use community because it’s surrounded by a golf course, parks with hike and bike trails and schools within walking distance.
