Circle C located in Austin

Circle C is a much coveted subdivision in the South Austin area.  It not only has the accessibility to MOPAC, it also is close to parks, golf courses and a variety of shopping and entertainment venues to delight anyone’s heart.

Since the first development stage of Circle C was so successful there has been continuous growth in other phases.  The second phase of Circle C was Park Place and the home builder was Capital Pacific Homes with the square footage of the homes ranging from 1800 – 2900 sqft.  The third phase was Vintage Place, also developed by Capital Pacific Homes and the square footage of these homes range from 2000 – 3500 sqft.  As Circle C continues to expand it now features DR Horton, KB Homes and Streetman Home builders at Circle C West with homes from the $190s to the $400s.

This subdivision takes pride in that it was designed as a “true neighborhood.”  Here you can commune with nature with over 450 acres of dedicated park grounds where you can swim, play tennis, basketball or volley ball, take pleasure of the hike and bike trails, rollerblading or cycling, playgrounds and soccer fields.  Since exercising the mind is also important, the Austin area schools for Circle C are Kiker Elementary , Clint Small Middle School, Bailey Middle School and Bowie High School.

The Shops at Arbor Trails are located north on MOPAC at the William Cannon intersection.  Here you can enjoy eateries like Torchy’s Tacos, Red Brick Pizza, Firehouse Subs, Cheddars or Panda Express.  A variety of shops offer furniture, cell phones and electronics, clothing and office supplies – you can even buy items in bulk if you so choose at Costco!

Southpark Meadows is a short drive east on Slaughter Lane providing an assortment of both local shops and national chains with restaurants like Cartwright’s Famous BBQ, Mama Fu’s or Fridays;  or shopping at Super Target, JCPenny’s or Hobby Lobby.  Perhaps catching a movie with family and friends followed by a visit to Gattitown might be the thing for you.

Among the many amenities already mentioned, Circle C also has the advantage of banking services close by like Bank of America, Capital One, Wachovia and Wells Fargo.  Medical services are available like Circle C Dental, The Seton Southwest Hospital, and the Circle C Animal Hospital. The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center is also conveniently located just south on MOPAC if you want to ask the horticulturist how to make your native plants look remarkable throughout the year.

Shady Hollow located in Austin

This South Austin community was formed in two stages.  Construction first began in the 70s and the second stage known as Shady Hollows West was completed  in the early 2000s.   Shady Hollow and Shady Hollow West are between Slaughter Lane and FM1626.  Prices range from the low $200’s to mid $400’s with homesites on large tree covered lots in the older sections.

There are four neighborhood parks in the Shady Hollow area, Capistrano Park, Doe Run Park, Gatling Gun Park and Shady Hollow West Park where you will find two basketball courts, two of the four tennis courts, two nature trails and playgrounds.  The amenities also include a clubhouse and swimming pool, and the residents also benefit from a website that offers resources and information important to the community. 

The Austin area schools are Baranoff Elementary School, Bailey Middle School and Bowie High School.  The Seton Southwest Hospital is in close proximity at 1826 with St. David’s South Austin Medical Center a bit further on MOPAC East.

Although the secluded natural beauty that surrounds this subdivision invites you to stay close to home, residents like to venture out for some “good eats,” shopping and entertainment.

On the corner of Slaughter and Brodie you will find some good eateries offering a relaxed atmosphere like Galaxy Café, Maudie’s Hacienda, Brick Oven or if you are in a hurry, KFC and Taco Bell come in handy.  There also is a Randalls Food and Pharmacy and a Wells Fargo branch.  A little further north on Brodie at the Brodie Plaza, Evangeline’s Café offers Cajun Food and live music.

Home improvements giants like Lowe’s and Home Depot are located in the Sunset Valley area with many other shopping opportunities readily available.  Southpark Meadows and The Shops at Arbor Trails also provide alternatives for the Shady Hollow residents.

Western Trails located in Austin

The Western Trails subdivision is located in South Austin off Hwy 71/290. It has one and two story brick homes, mostly three bedroom floor plans, on large lots that were developed between the 60’s and 70’s.  South Austin is known for being laid back and easy going and Western Trails is not an exception.

If your family is growing and you are in need of schools, the Austin ISD schools for the area are Sunset Valley Elementary School, Covington Middle School and Crockett High School.  If your children are college bound, or if you want to reinvigorate your career with a few computer classes, the University of Texas and two Austin Community College campuses are close by.

This South Austin neighborhood also houses the Westgate Shopping Center which offers wonderful options for shopping and entertainment like Central Market, the Westgate Regal Cinemas, Borders Bookstore, Yoga Yoga, Café Monet and great restaurants like Hyde Park Bar & Grill and Central Market’s Café on the Run.  Not far there is a Target, St. David’s South Austin Hospital, Randalls, and a little further on South Lamar there is Brodie Oaks Shopping Center.  Easy access to any type of shopping you need accomplished or whatever culinary delight you wish to indulge!

The greenbelt area of Austin is in the vicinity, just a short drive on Ben White Hwy 71.  Parks in the area also include Garrison Park, Gus Fruth Park, the South Austin Park and Recreation Center and Joslin Park.  So if hiking or running trails are part of your outdoor hobbies this is another selling point for this subdivision.

Western Trails is a neighborhood that shouts diversity and part of what keeps Austin …special! Western Oaks located in Austin

The subdivision of Western Oaks is a graceful community lined with trees, located in Southwest Austin.   Western Oaks was established in about three stages, with most of the construction taking place at the beginning of the mid to late 1970s, followed by more development in the 1980s and finally, completing its expansion between the early 1990s and 2002.  This subdivision has its own community center with swimming pool, tennis courts and playground.

It’s has great access to highways 71 and 290 West, taking you to the Hill Country and to Seton Southwest Hospital; or East to St. David’s South Austin Hospital and Austin Bergstrom International Airport; MOPAC South taking you to the Wildflower Center and to the Grey Rock Golf Course; or take MOPAC North to Downtown Austin, the University of Texas or dine at the Cheesecake Factory in the Arboretum area!

The public schools are part of the Austin Independent School District - Patton Elementary, Clint Small Middle School and Austin High School.  And if you are interested in a little higher education without having to go to Downtown Austin, the Pinnacle Campus of the Austin Community College is in close proximity. 

In recent years, this part of Southwest Austin has had a burst of economic expansion.  Right off William Cannon and MOPAC North you will find the Shops at Arbor Trails with an array of restaurants, specialty shops and services, and even hike and bike trails for your entertainment.  On the side of William Cannon and MOPAC South, you’ll find the neighborhood Randalls, a fitness center and other family services.
